Hello! My name is Angela. I qualified in the Bowen Technique with the European College of Bowen Studies, Europe’s leading Bowen school, under the guidance of David Howells and Julian Baker. This is how I got there.....

My first employer was The Smallpeice Trust in Leamington Spa. I had eight happy years there and it kick-started a career in PR and Marketing. During that time I studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and later worked freelance and employed in both the charity and commercial sectors.

I read about the Bowen Technique in the health pages of a magazine. I'd never heard of it before and was intrigued. How could a few moves with some breaks in between stop the reporter’s back pain, get rid of her period pains and improve her posture? How could such a gentle touch feel like a deep massage? It seemed slightly weird, to be honest, so of course I had to find out more!

After considerable research I booked on the first stage of the course. I had been considering a career change for at least a year and wondered if this could be the start of something new.

A couple of weeks before the course started, something happened to my neck and it eventually became so stiff I could hardly turn it without also moving my whole body. By the first day of the course it was worse than ever. Of course, this was a great opportunity for the tutor to demonstrate the power of Bowen. By the end of that day, I had significant improvement in my neck’s flexibility.  Four days later, I realised that my neck was completely free of pain and stiffness, and it’s been fine ever since. No surprise then, that I was hooked!

I’ve been constantly astounded at the results which can be achieved through this amazing and unique form of therapy. So, if you're looking for a natural way to trigger your body's own healing mechanism, or are generally feeling stressed out and in low spirits, I do hope you'll give Bowen a try.
